We're currently almost four months removed from Hwang's release as the latest without much talk going on about the game. Unlike Tekken and Dragon Ball FighterZ, Bandai Namco has never said exactly how much SC6 has managed to sell even two and a half years later, which isn't exactly the most promising sign. Soul Calibur 6's prospects of receiving a third season are less likely to happen though for a few reasons.
People are still buying into Tekken 7, so it would make sense if Bandai Namco would want to go out on a final season bang like Street Fighter 5 is currently riding. There is a good argument to be made, however, to continue supporting Tekken 7 with more content for the time being, as the game managed to reach 7 million copies sold with that last million all coming in the last 6 months or so. Harada's specifically said in the past that new hardware arrivals are perhaps the best opportunity to sell more fighting games, as most major developers have shifted to only releasing one new entry per console generation.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are available now, so we're completely open to the next generation of fighting games to hit the scene though there's mostly only been ports so far. Whatever the next project is from the Tekken team is almost certainly quite far along in the development phase, especially given how relatively small Season 4 was, though it'll all come down to when Bamco decides to pull that trigger. Many felt from the start of Season 4's announcement that this latest pass might be the last, as it featured fewer characters and content compared to the others with only two fighters, stages and technically the updated netcode. With Lidia releasing just a few days ago, it'd be believable that a potential Season 5 wouldn't be greenlit yet by the higher ups though Harada assuredly has a gameplan for either scenario.
